Prescription arrangements

Regular medication may be authorized by your Doctor to be on the repeat system. This means that patients can request a repeat prescription without seeing the Doctor for a specified period of time. Prescriptions requests should be made, preferably in writing using the tear off slip provided with each prescription, but requests will be accepted by telephone on the main surgery number, 01453 764471. Patients should allow 48 hours before collection. The practice has arrangements with local pharmacies who operate a collection service. If the patient specified the Pharmacy they wish to dispense their medication this will be printed on the top of the prescription and the chosen pharmacy will collect the prescription from the surgery on the patients behalf. The patient can then collect the dispensed medication directly from the Pharmacy without having to visit the surgery.

Patients on regular repeat medication will be asked to make appointments periodically to see either the Practice Nurse or the Doctor for monitoring blood tests or other review of their condition. Patients are requested to comply with these regular checks.

Practice Facilities

Rowcroft Medical Centre is a modern purpose built Surgery situated in the middle of Stroud. There is adequate parking, but patients are requested to kindly move their cars following their appointment to allow another patient to take their space. Unfortunately, some local people abuse the parking and use the Car park when they are shopping in town, and this causes some distress to elderly and sick people who are unable to park when they are attending for appointments.

The spacious surgery is well equipped for the examination and treatment of patients, and there is a light and airy waiting room with magazines, books for children, and a Lego Table.

Leaflet racks and information boards contain information about relevant health related topics, and local organizations providing support and help for patients. Patients requiring information about any health related matters should ask the Receptionists for any information they cannot find already displayed.
